Becoming an authorised Network Rail driver

All authorised drivers who have completed an electronic licence check via the Licence Bureau will be automatically sent a unique Driver ID and password to access the Vehicle Telematics System.

For those who have not completed this electronic process, an alternative process has been agreed – where line managers can locally check employees driving licences.

  • Line managers should check the employees driving licence, complete the ‘VTS Manual Licence Check form for Line Managers’, and send this to VehicleTracking@networkrail.co.uk.
  • Once received and processed, a unique Driver ID and password, along with a VTS communications pack, will be provided to the driver.
