Equipment fitted into the Driving Cab of some Units (usually the newer rolling stock) which records train speed/brake applications/AWS indications/TPWS activations received etc on each journey. Also know as O.T.M.R., (On Train Monitoring Recorder) the contents of the “Black Box” can be downloaded by specialist equipment at certain depots to provide printouts of information enabling investigation into SPADS etc.
