Slips, Trips & Falls - Phase 2

 

Project Problem Statement

The number of Slips, Trips and Falls that are being reported is on the increase. This is supported by industry reported events. Extensive project work has been undertaken in the last 3 years and the outputs from the Phase 1 are in the attached report.

The  Phase 1 report (PDF 153 KB) covers details of the investigations and findings of the first phase of the project.

Remit

To establish an industry wide project team to fully develop, implement and monitor solutions.

Scope of trials

The systematic verification of remedial actions to be implemented to reduce the incidence of conditions which could result in injuries from slips, trips and falls.

Representatives from the following organisations were engaged to assist in phase 2 of the project by the trialling of the processes listed in the left column of the table below.

Two additional sites were put forward by the Buildings and Civils asset as trial locations.

RIAG / SIT STF Forum provided supplementary support. 

Outputs

Please see attached  the final project report (PDF 57 KB) with it's findings and recommendations. There is also a full  Phase 2 report (PDF 122 KB) that contains all the details of the Phase 2 Project as outlined above.

Also as a result of the trials 3 Good Practice Guides (GPG), Toolbox Talks and Key Point Cards have been developed.
